JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Toyota plans to expand the Land Cruiser range by launching a pure electric version, namely the Land Cruiser SE.
Quoted from Carscoops, Sunday (4/2/2024), the Land Cruiser SE is expected to have larger dimensions and be more focused on comfort than the Land Cruiser J250 series (Prado) which will be present in North America.
This electric Land Cruiser is rumored to be equipped with advanced technology, such as Toyota prismatic cells. This technology promises cheaper production costs and more energy than current battery technology.

The giant Japanese automotive company also claims that the battery installed in the Land Cruiser SE is capable of producing a range of up to 621 miles or 1,000 km on a single charge.

Even though it will not focus on the Land Cruiser Prado off-road vehicle, Toyota ensures that the Land Cruiser SE can provide good handling when crossing paths. The large torque produced by the electric motor is said to be able to make the car climb hills or extreme roads.
Not only the Land Cruiser SE, Toyota is also preparing a more compact model, which is based on the Compact Cruiser EV concept.
The model is expected to be similar in size to the bZ4X, and will compete with cars in the compact SUV segment such as the Land Rover Defender and small G-Class.

The electric compact SUV will likely be based on the E-TNGA architecture like the bZ4X. For information, the bZ4X is currently capable of producing up to 214 hp and is equipped with a 71.4 kWh battery which can cover a distance of 417 km on a single charge.
