House prices, ITV (ITV), Wincanton (WIN), Rightmove (RMV), Tritax Big Box (BBOX), Dar Global (DAR) and Babcock International (BAB)
House prices have risen for the first time in over a year, and also beat expectations for both annual and monthly gains. According to lender Nationwide, the average UK home rose 1.2 per cent in value over the year to February, to £260,420, as mortgage costs fell due to banks’ expectation that the base rate has peaked.
The rise marks the first annual increase since January 2023 and defies predictions from economists polled by Reuters, who forecast a 0.7 per cent…
Spring is less than a month away, and with it typically comes a busy time to buy and sell a home in Southern California.
The holidays have passed. The weather is warmer. At least in theory, families should have enough time to find a home, move and settle in before their children start school in the fall.
But during four years of a pandemic-influenced market, seasonality has at times gone by the wayside and home prices have whipsawed up, down, then back up again.
So what should you expect if you are looking to buy or sell a home this…
Brenna Dwyer was in a race to buy her first home. When she and her sister decided to purchase a house together in 2020, they didn’t realize how steep the competition would be — or who they were up against.
“If we would find a house we liked and needed to think about it, by the time we had just a few days to talk it was already gone,” she said. “We had to make a decision quick or the house would go away.”
It took the sisters six months to find their home in Shawnee, Kansas. Then it took…

Andrews, 93, doesn’t want to sell, and says just over a year ago he turned down a $NZ2.5m…

As the spring home-buying season approaches, there are signs that buying and selling activity in the market may not fully bloom.
A combination of still-high mortgage rates and home prices amid historically low housing stock continues to put homeownership out of reach for many—most notably first-time buyers.
Many may have to surrender to the reality of elevated home prices and mortgage rates if they want to buy a home in the foreseeable future.

KITTERY, Maine — The Warren’s Lobster House waterfront restaurant property has been listed for sale at $4.9 million by its longtime owners, as a prior deal for a local developer to purchase, demolish and redevelop the site has fallen through.
Green & Company Real Estate and the Cunningham family have mutually agreed to terminate a purchase and sale agreement regarding the Water Street property, according to both parties. The restaurant is currently working to reopen in a limited capacity, although questions remain for what the future holds for Warren’s.
The decision was made in late February, according to Warren’s co-owner…
