AUTO24.africa, a Stellantis-backed used-car retailer, has appointed Pierre Jégou as Chief Operating Officer to oversee operations in five African markets. Jégou, previously Commercial Performance Manager, will manage day-to-day activities in Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa.

He will work alongside CEO Axel Peyriere, who will focus on strategy, partnerships, and capital development. Jégou’s promotion follows two years of improving commercial performance and processes across the company’s markets.

Leadership Expansion and Operational Focus

Jégou joined AUTO24.africa in August 2024, collaborating with country managers to enhance sales and streamline processes. He also contributed to the development of EV24.africa, the group’s electric-vehicle marketplace.

Before AUTO24.africa, Jégou gained nearly a decade of experience in Côte d’Ivoire, including roles at Autochek, Carrefour, and Regus. His appointment follows the naming of François-Hugues d’Aillières as Group Chief Financial Officer in August 2025.

Executive Team’s Background and Product Expansion

François-Hugues d’Aillières, appointed Group CFO, has a background in finance, including roles at Jumia Group and GreenYellow. The company’s product range now includes electric two- and three-wheelers, such as the Fiat Tris, developed in collaboration with Stellantis.

Growth Across Africa and Beyond Used Cars

AUTO24.africa launched in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in September 2022, coinciding with Stellantis’ investment in parent company Africar Group. The company expanded into four additional countries in 2023, covering North, West, East, and Southern Africa.

Used-car retail accounts for 90% of its business, with over 220 employees across its markets. The group aims to improve vehicle sourcing, inventory turnover, and customer experience.

Diversifying into Electric Mobility and Services

Beyond used cars, AUTO24.africa is expanding into electric mobility, maintenance, and spare parts. EV24.africa has delivered electric vehicles to customers in over 20 African countries and receives hundreds of weekly enquiries from all 54 African nations.

The group also operates MEKA24, a vehicle maintenance business, and PARTS24, an online spare parts marketplace with 50,000 references in Morocco. PARTS24 collaborates with Stellantis’ SUSTAINera, whose vehicle dismantling center opened in Casablanca in May 2026.

Strategic Integration and Future Plans

With Stellantis’ backing and an expanded executive team, the company is developing an integrated platform to serve customers beyond the initial vehicle purchase. Plans include extending PARTS24 to Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire in late 2026.
